Experienced Driver
Sign-on Bonus
Leichhardt, Burwood and Kingsgrove
Available to individuals with a heavy vehicle licence and more than 6 months of bus industry experience. This offer applies to both full-time and part-time (pro-rata) roles.
$6,000 in total
$1,000 after completion of 3 months
$2,000 after completion of 6 months
$3,000 after completion of 12 months
Terms and Conditions
The sign-on bonus is available only to applicants who apply on or after 14 March 2025.
Applicable to drivers who are successfully hired to Transit Systems NSW.
Must have at least 6 months Bus driving experience.
To be eligible, you must meet minimum driving requirements of 110 shifts in the first 6 months and a combined total of 220 shifts over the 12-month period.
Casual employees are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.
Sign on bonus is subject to tax and superannuation in accordance with the relevant legislation.
Sign on bonus payments will be made in the first applicable pay adjustment after completion of the period.
Returning employees are eligible, provided they have been away from Transit Systems for more than 12 months.
If employment ends for any reason, no payment is due (i.e. there is no pro-rata/partial amount for less than 6 or 12 months).
If an employee changes status between full time to Casual, no payment is due (i.e. there is no pro-rata/partial amount for less than 6 or 12 months).
If an employee changes status between full time and part time in a 6-month period, a pro-rata calculation will be done based on hours worked in that period.
Amounts stated are paid to full time employees. Part time employees receive a pro-rata based on their hours of work.
If an employee transfers to a different depot or region (where the bonus is not applicable), their eligibility for the sign-on bonus will be discontinued.
The terms and conditions of the sign-on bonus will be included in the employee’s contract. By accepting the job offer, the employee agrees to the terms and conditions of the sign-on bonus.
Those on extended leave will be considered on a case by case basis with final approval to be determined by the Managing Director.
These Terms and Conditions may be varied as determined by the Managing Director.
