  • If the regular nine-to-five working life isn’t for you, our full-time driving positions work on a rotating roster, and provide the option to boost your pay via additional weekend shifts.

Your roster may include a mixture of morning, afternoon, evening, or broken/split shifts working five days across any seven days, with potential overtime available during the days when you are not rostered

Drivers will start out on a mixture of broken and straight shifts Mon-Fri, then move to working any five days across the seven-day week, with potential overtime on the days you are not rostered.

Lines of afternoon an evening shifts can appear on your roster after you have settled in and gained the skills you need to be a confident driver. These types of shifts are usually covered by drivers preferring to work these times and may be available to you later on.

There are no broken shifts on weekends.

We may offer opportunities for overtime, as well as opportunities to cover rail replacement services or for special events (e.g. football). How much you earn in addition to your rostered work is at your discretion, so long as your working hours do not breach industry fatigue regulations.

  • Weekend work is rostered for full time employees (with a minimum of one full weekend rostered off in every 4 week period) with additional weekend work as optional. All weekend work is paid at the appropriate overtime rates.

After you have successfully completed six months’ work, this rate will increase to $31.38 per hour and you will be back paid the difference between the two rates.

  • While there are opportunities for you to boost your pay through overtime opportunities we don’t allow you to work more than 6 days a week to help manage fatigue and ensure a work/life balance.

Rosters are created so that you have similar start times throughout the week.
